I've read this before, but I wanted to remember what she wrote about medieval/Renaissance court life.
resurfacing
Okay, so I know I dropped off the face of the earth again. I'm sorry. At least it wasn't for as long as last time!
I do have an excuse, though. I got crazy sick on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend. Just laid flat out in bed and passed out. Fever over 103, sore throat, exhaustion. I got up to go to the doctor's and get my meds. Came home and went back to bed. Didn't feel well at all until halfway through the next day. Then I got another infection on top of that. Then BL got pinkeye. Then JH got sick. Then BL got sick. Then I got sick again. Now BL has a sinus infection, which I hope is the last of this plague that has fallen upon our house.
Knitting - I finished the alphabet blanket and started on a second alphabet blanket. I'm almost done with the second blanket. I'm debating whether to add the decorative triangles around the edge, but am leaning away from it - too many ends to weave in. I also started Honeysuckle. I'll probably take that with me next week when we go to Colorado.
I just returned from a fun me-only weekend in the San Francisco area. I was there for a baby shower - fraternal twin boys! - but I got to see most of my close college friends who live in the Bay Area. It was so nice to see everyone, and engage in adult conversation! I spent Saturday morning at the Farmers' Market at the Ferry Building and really wished I live there so I could buy all the delicious produce and offerings and go home and cook up a storm.
We're about to take off for our anniversary trip to Colorado. I'm so excited. We're spending a couple days in Boulder and a couple days in Denver. I really need finish our itinerary - right now, it's mostly just a skeleton with restaurants and hotels put in. We have a lot of fun on these trips, so I can't wait.
I'm pretty tired these days - I think my insomnia is catching up with me, so I'm going to sign off now. I promise I'll write more after we get back from CO. In the meantime, enjoy these pictures from San Francisco.
